Have you ever worried about what others might be thinking of you?
I know I have, and there was a time that I was even a slave to what others thought about me. And let’s be frank, I am convinced that all people are concerned in someway about the opinions of others. I mean, you might not be human if you don’t care, just saying. There are people in my life that I care deeply, what they think about me, like my husband, my children, my parents, my mentors and co-laborers in the church. and I do, I really do care what my church thinks about me, however I am no longer a slave to that. And I don’t want you to be either.
One of the reasons we, unhealthily care so much about what others think is because we are our worst critic. But I am a witness that there are actually more people that admire you! There are actually people in your life that think you are so amazing. But we have a propensity to focus on our negative, less favorable attributes and think it’s all people see. This is false. Us church folks call this lies from the devil! The Bible says that satan is the father of lies. His whole goal is to wear us down and get us to focus on ourselves, to focus on FIXING Yourself.  So with our eyes fixated on our faults and mistakes our thoughts lean into comparisons.
Being intentional about changing our thoughts becomes very important for Wellness – Spirit, Soul and Body. We cannot fix ourselves. We need truth to fix us. Making declarations daily really helps to shape our mind.
According to the Oxford languages dictionary a Declaration means to make a formal or explicit statement or announcement.  it is to announce to everyone who hears of the beginning of a state of being or condition. A declaration should be announced loudly or written, so that every evil spirit hears it! Since the devil lies we can only come at him with the truth! So your declaration needs to be truth, and God’s truth about you is the absolute truth.
So, say it loud and say it proud!
Science shows that you can change the propensity to always think a certain way. You can actually change the way you think by practicing “Rethinking”, In church we call it Renewing your mind. Renewing your mind by just having another thought.
There is power in what you think about yourself and what you say about yourself and others. So, declaring  good things and speaking truth into your being is a way to have another thought.
Are you struggling with fear or always wanting the validation of others? I invite you to make this declaration/prayer daily this week. Let me know how this helps you!

Say This With Me
I’m no longer a slave to fear;
I’m no longer a slave to the validation of others;
I’m no longer a slave to distractions.
When I am afraid, insecure or distracted
Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, redirects me and that is enough.
I hope this has been helpful for you. Remember to choose joy today!
God Deserves a Happy You.
